Our annual GROW Science Day will take place on Thursday November 21nd, 2019 from 8:30-17:00hrs at the Van der Valk hotel, Nijverheidsweg 35, Maastricht.

Theme of the day is ‘Getting the patient's perspective'.
Be updated and take part in an open discussion about the patient-researcher relationship e.g. personalized medicine, quality of life and shared decision making; should patients have a say on treatment plans, fundamental research, fund allocation?
A highly interactive day including a PhD debate, scientific presentations, poster promenade and more is offered.

We are delighted to confirm our inspirational keynote speakers; Bibian Mentel and Warner Prevoo
Bibian is a successful snowboarder in the Dutch-European and World scene, winning over 128 gold medals. She won 3 Gold medals in the Paralympics. Since being diagnosed with cancer at age 27,  she was treated against cancer 11 times..Bibian will participate in the PhD debate and share her personal experiences on terms of top sport, her struggle with cancer  and for all her drive to think in possibilities instead of limitations; it’s all about mentality!
Warner Prevoo is cancer specialist and intervention radiologist at OLVG Amsterdam. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2016 and will talk how this experience changed his view on the doctor-patient relationship.
