Do you have certain qualities that you would like to further develop at work? Have you talked about following a course during your annual evaluation and would you like advice about this? Do you wonder if you are still in the right job? Would you like something different but don’t know where or how to start? Do you sometimes feel stuck at work?
When you come to the Staff Career Centre (SCC), we will sit down together and look at your questions and how we can provide you with support. Some of the options available to you are:
Individual coaching
Career-related individual coaching
For issues such as:
- “I would like to develop further in my position. How do I do that?”
- “I would like to follow my heart more and look for a job in which I can use my creativity.”
- “My current position no longer challenges me; I want to look for something more.”
Work-related individual coaching
For issues such as:
- “I don’t get a lot of things done on time because I’m so perfectionistic.”
- “I need to go outside more, but don’t really dare to.”
- “I’m a bit insecure so I don't dare take any action.”
- “How can I communicate more effectively in my team so that I’m understood?”

Training programmes and workshops
We offer training programmes and workshops through which you can develop competencies, skills or certain qualities. Examples of these are: personal effectiveness, presentation skills, applying for a job, and even maintaining a work-life balance. View the complete overview of our courses.
Other questions
You can also come to us with all other questions - large and small - related to learning, development and coaching. For example, you can ask to practice job interviews and or to get feedback on your CV and cover letters.
Your needs and your development are the primary focus, and we would like to help you with that! Please email us your questions. We are happy to schedule an intake with our training coordinator to further explore your questions and together determine the best course of action.
Team development programmes
Well-functioning teams are crucial for the achievement of UM's ambitions. And at the same time, we know how complex team dynamics are. Together, we can look at what your team needs to function at its best.
We can help you with issues such as:
- “We want to add more substance to our team day, what could we do and/or do you know of an agency that could do this?”
- “There are a number of new people on our team, and we want to work on our team spirit.”
- “Our team has to go from A to B. Who can support us in this and how should we do it?”
- “There are conflicts within our team. How can we work on this and ensure a pleasant and effective team environment?"
We have a large network of companies and people working in the area of team development and we have a lot of insights into team dynamics and development processes.
We are happy to meet with you (and your team) and together look at the deeper issues in order to determine what is best for your team. That could be as simple as a designated afternoon organised around a specific theme, such as time management or collaboration. It could be a short development programme with a team coach. Or it could even be a flexible, perhaps longer, process with a clear goal in mind. Or perhaps receiving a number of recommendations based on our expertise is sufficient.

Open training courses
Together with your supervisor and your HR advisor, you discuss your personal development. You, your supervisor and/or your HR advisor may have certain aspirations. Together, you determine whether a training programme can help you achieve these aspirations regarding your personal development.
Taking your aspirations as a starting point, we have have a wide range of courses for you to choose from.
