Parking possibilities

Do you plan on driving to the UM (from abroad) every day? Do you live in Maastricht and own a car? Then the UM and the Municipality of Maastricht have several parking options for you.

Free parking in Randwyck

You can park for free in Randwyck! UM has a large car park at the Sorbonnelaan, which offers free parking 24/7 to everyone with a UMcard.

Driving to the UM from abroad several days a week?

If you do not live in Maastricht, and you drive to and from your home abroad to Maastricht several days a week for your studies, you can buy a parking permit for foreign students. 

The foreign student parking permit entitles you to park in one of the following applicable parking zones: Brusselsepoort; Villapark-St.Pieter-Jekerdal; Mariaberg; Noorderbrug/Franciscus Romanusweg. For 2022, the cost is €5.50 per month (plus a one-time admin fee of €19.85).

Are you a Maastricht resident and do you own a car?

If you live and study in Maastricht (i.e. you do not commute to university from abroad), you can apply for a resident parking permit. This permit entitles you to park your car in the zone you live in. Prices depend on how far away from Maastricht’s city centre you live. You can apply for a residents parking permit online on the website of the Municipality of Maastricht

Free parking at 'Maastricht Noord' P&R

You can also park for free at the car park (Park & Ride) that at Maastricht Noord  , near the A79 (Aachen-Maastricht) motorway exit. Parking is free of charge 24/7. A bus departs to the city centre every 15 minutes and is free of charge if you have a student travel product ('studentenreisproduct' from DUO).
