About the faculty

The training and supervision of the PhD programme is done by professors and lecturers of the interdisciplinary Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS) of Maastricht University. 

We teach in the different European Studies programmes (bachelor and master). Consisting of a young and international group of researchers, trained in political science, public administration, international relations, history and philosophy, Maastricht University is one of the most dynamic places for the study and research of contemporary European Studies. Faculty members in the field of European Studies are affiliated with professional organizations such as:

• Netherlands Institute of Government (NIG),
• European Consortium of Political Research (ECPR),
• European Union Studies Association (EUSA),
• University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) and the 
• Council for European Studies (CES), among others.
