Social safety
As of 2024, the projects ‘Work pressure’ and ‘Social Safety’ are merged into the project ‘Work pressure and Well-being’.
In the upcoming period, the team members primarily aim to identify and address early career researchers’ (i.e. postdocs, assistant professors and associate professors) needs related to the experience of work pressure and wellbeing within UM.
Relatedly, we aim to explore to what extent and how the suggestions for enhancing sustainable employability that were identified based on earlier versions of the monitor have been implemented within the different faculties and departments.
The Maastricht Young Academy social safety project is led by Boukje Compen with the team of Anna Schüth, Bram Fleuren, Irina Nikolova and Therese Grohnert.
Maastricht Young Academy book club: “Complaint!” by Sara Ahmed
The Maastricht Young Academy, together with the Diversity & Inclusivity Office and the Jan van Eyck Academie, organize a book club on Sarah Ahmed’s “Complaint!”
This book club was open to all students and employees of Maastricht University (academic staff may claim CPD hours for this activity), as well as to participants of the Jan van Eyck Academie.
We discussed excerpts from Ahmed’s book during lunch time (food will be provided) in a series of three sessions.
