Alice Vandenberghe, Alumna BA European Studies
After graduating from the Bachelor European Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Alice pursued a double master in the field of sustainability in Geneva and Beijing.
Along her studies, Alice was working in a Swiss social consultancy and doing the communication of the European parliament. She now works as a Communication and Outreach consultant at the IFC, a sub brand of the World Bank Group.
She argues: "I truly think that my studies in Maastricht have been a pivot in my academic and professional journey, as it opened the doors to an international environment while gaining all the academic knowledge necessary to pursue my career". Moreover, she said that she "learnt to juggle between my studies and my student jobs, working at the Inner city library and also for the FASoS promotion team during my bachelor's programme, which happened to be extremely useful seeing how the rest of my studies went, always having a job and studying simultaneously".
Alice is grateful for her years in Maastricht because she met some of her closest friends during her bachelor study. "It is fascinating to see the different paths that we all took now in 2022, almost 5 years after starting our bachelor in 2016 together".
