High royal award for honorary doctor Sijbesma

On September 3, 2021, Prime Minister Rutte presented a rare high royal award to Feike Sijbesma, former CEO of Royal DSM and honorary doctor of the UM. Mr. Sijbesma was praised for the transformation of DSM and in particular for his contribution to sustainability and society.

Sijbesma was appointed as Grand Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau, one of the highest royal honors. In the past 20 years, the award has only been presented three times before.
