Towards a comprehensive dispute settlement system in a China-EU bilateral investment treaty
Since 2013, China and the EU have launched the negotiations on a China-EU Bilateral Investment Treaty.
Based on China’s and the EU’s practice in international investment dispute settlement, assisted by the exploration of their legal cultural characteristics, as well as the influence thereof on their internal and international practice, the thesis focuses on the dispute settlement system in this prospective treaty, by anticipating both parties’ possible proposals, discussing the potential thorny issues and recommending solutions that are worthy of consideration.
