KidzCollege starts again
From Wednesday 10 May, children are welcomed once again for an impression of the world of science. KidzCollege receives group 8 pupils of elementary schools in the region for a series of lectures that allow them to get acquainted with education and research at Maastricht University in an understandable and exciting manner.
KidzCollege 2017 will receive 350 children from Maastricht, but also from Sittard, Wijnandsrade, Wittem, Bunde and other locations. For the very first time a Belgian school takes part: the Gemeentelijke Basisschool Maasmechelen. Scientists from several disciplines will give the lectures.
The lecture series kicks off on 10 May with ‘Brokkenboel’, where the professor shows all that can get broken in a human body and how that can be repaired. The children will examine X-rays, discover what happens on the operating table, and even plaster a cast.
After that many exciting lectures will follow about themes such as the cultured burger, migration, technology, freedom, money and reading.
Just like each year, Maastricht University looks very much forward to the visit of hundreds of pupils.
