Vacancy: FSE social media ambassadors

Are you a student who's all about social media and looking for a paid job next to your studies? Do you want to be the voice of your university programme and engage with prospective students? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

We're on the hunt for enthusiastic and imaginative students to join the social media team of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. As part of the team, you'll take charge of your programme’s Instagram account, reaching out to potential students, providing all the important info about your programme and creating compelling content to boost your programme and faculty's online presence. Responsibilities

  • Manage the Instagram account of your university programme
  • Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner
  • Take and edit photos and videos for social media posts
  • Create and share engaging, high-quality content, promoting the programme's initiatives and events
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to gather programme updates, success stories, and noteworthy events
  • Monitor social media metrics and analyse results to improve the programme's online presence
  • Attend events, workshops, and meetings related to the programme and create posts about them
  • Collaborate with other programmes' Social Media Ambassadors and the FSE marketing team 

Requirements

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and familiarity with content creation tools.
  • Prior experience in social media 

    is a plus but not required.

  • Creative, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to take high-quality photos and videos.
  • Creative and imaginative approach to content creation.
  • Familiarity with the programme/University and its initiatives is a plus.

Working conditions and compensation

  • You will receive a 0-hour contract via InterUM (UM employment agency), which means payment will be based on the actual hours you work. See here for payscales.
  • The job consists of 2 hours per week, on average.
  • The hours are flexible, you can work from home.
  • It is necessary to use your own phone (and/or camera) for this work, so it should allow for shooting high quality photos and video, as well as easy access to the social media platforms.
