Education Social Medicine
The department of Social Medicine participates in seven education programs:
Bachelor of Medicine
The Medicine program revolves around concrete problems from the field, with theory and practice going hand in hand. Students learn all the skills they need to treat patients and respond to new developments in the healthcare sector.
The Bachelor of Medicine three-year program is taught largely in Dutch.

Master in Medicine
The master’s program focuses on being active in healthcare and research. Having completed a bachelor's in Medicine, this master's program will entitle one to call himself a 'basic doctor'. It means that one is eligible to apply for a place in a specialty training program.
This master's in Medicine is a three-year program offered in Dutch.

International Master of Medicine
This master’s program is part of the International Track in Medicine. After completing the International Bachelor of Medicine, students can continue with the International Master in Medicine. At the end of the Master’s degree program students will have fulfilled the joint national learning outcomes, laid down in ‘The 2009 Framework for Undergraduate Medical Education in the Netherlands’.
The international master is offered in English.

Physician-clinical investigator
The Physician-Clinical Investigator program offers students the opportunity to combine a medical degree with a clinical investigator degree. It focuses on translational medicine: bridging the gap between research and care delivery by translating questions from patient care into research, and applying research results to care. The physician component is equivalent to the Dutch master’s degree in medicine.
This four-year program is taught largely in Dutch.

Bachelor of European Public Health
As Europe becomes more unified, Europeans are more often seeking healthcare across borders and national health policies are becoming increasingly harmonised. The bachelor’s program in European Public Health is for students who want to gain a holistic understanding of national and European healthcare systems.
European Public Health is a three-year program taught in English.

Bachelor of Health Sciences (in particular the specialization Prevention & Health)
The three-year bachelor's program in Health Sciences approaches health from several scientific perspectives. Students in the specialization Prevention & Health learn about strategies to change people’s behavior (unhealthy lifestyles) and their environment.

Master Work, Health & Career
The one-year (two years for part-time students) master program Work, Health & Career is an interdisciplinary program which provides up-to-date knowledge of contemporary topics such as work-life balance, work engagement, health promotion, extended working careers, precarious work and chronic illness in relation to work.
The program is taught in English.
