In conversation with Wopke Hoekstra: our view on Europe

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra will give a speech titled “Our view of Europe” on Monday 9 May 2022. After his speech, the minister will engage in a conversation with the audience in the room. Rianne Letschert, president of Maastricht University, will give the opening speech. The event is moderated by Annette van Soest. (Note: this event is in Dutch.)

In his speech, minister Hoekstra will be discussing, among others, civil dialogues and how they make a valuable contribution in shaping Dutch EU policy. He will also look back on the most important developments in the EU of the past year based on the Dutch State of the European Union 2022 and present a vision on Dutch EU policy for the coming year. The minister will also discuss the latest developments regarding the war in Ukraine. 

Minister Hoekstra speaks in the Muziekgieterij, the cultural stage of Maastricht. It is also possible to follow the event and ask questions via a livestream. You can watch the livestream on the YouTube channel of Studio Europa Maastricht.
