Amir Khaki (A.)

Amir joined the Circular Plastics Group at the Circular Chemical Engineering department (CCE) of Maastricht University (UM) as a Ph.D. candidate in November 2021. His main research focus is on the Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ESCR) in Recycled High-Density Polyethylene. As an acute problem for HDPE and a real challenge to recycling, environmental stress cracking causes failure without any visible warning due to the slow crack growth accelerated by aggressive agents. His aim in this project is to focus on and apply the knowledge of structure-property-processing relationships in recycled HDPEs to improve their mechanical recyclability.
