Mariia Domina Presents at UK Animal Law Conference

Dr. Mariia Domina presented her research on corporate social responsibility during the UK Animal Law Conference, which took place on 29-30 May in Birmingham.

Mariia discussed the role that commercial companies can and should play in the protection of environment and animals. More specifically, she engaged in a comparative law analysis (French and Luxembourg law and related case law) of the company’s obligations to take into account environmental impact of its activities. Mariia advocates for an establishment of a specific group of corporate stakeholders – animals – which will ensure the consideration of their rights and interests in this context.

This presentation was welcomed by a public and questions have been asked in relation to the forthcoming EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and its impact on the protection of animals.
