Advisory Council Diversity & Inclusivity is looking for a new Student member from FHML!
Do you have ideas on how to make UM a more diverse and inclusive place? Do you want to be an active ambassador for D&I? Do you want to incorporate and represent the students’ perspectives in UM’s D&I initiatives?
Are you interested in thinking about accessibility facilities in our university? In how to address anti-racism in the classroom? How we could or should promote equality and, when necessary, equity at our institution?
Are you interested in national and international developments in higher education linked to inclusion and sometimes exclusion?
Then please, consider joining UM's Diversity and Inclusivity Advisory Council and be part of those relevant, not always easy conversations.
What is the D&I Advisory Council?
UM has appointed an advisory council on diversity and inclusivity in order to support, challenge and inspire the Executive Board in the realisation of the UM’s mission and strategy.
The Advisory Council consists of UM staff, UM students and members not employed by Maastricht University. The council is chaired by the UM President

What will you be doing?
As a student member of the Diversity & Inclusivity Advisory Council, you will...
- Act as ambassador for D&I within UM and beyond.
- Give solicited and unsolicited advice in D&I areas.
Practical information:
- The D&I Advisory Council will meet at least four times a year, plus once year for the D&I Grants.
- The meetings are conducted in the English language.
- The D&I Advisory Council seeks to ensure representation across all UM faculties. While we currently have student members from all except FHML. We invite applications from FHML students.
- You are encouraged to participate in D&I events
- Membership of AC D&I is not reimbursed, but you can receive a certificate of membership (and when we meet in person you get snacks).
