COLA project receives financial support from WUN Research Development Fund 2015
Dr Mindel van de Laar (UNU-MERIT) received a financial contribution from the WUN Research Development Fund for the Community of Learning for Africa (COLA) project.
COLA is an online study and research platform that helps young African PhD students improve their research skills. It offers courses and the opportunity to receive feedback from international academic staff members on research proposals, publications and papers, with the aim of helping them improve their quality. COLA also offers researchers the opportunity to collaborate with peers, expand their network and exchange information and expertise via online discussion platforms.
COLA will become a network for African PhD candidates, their supervisors and international researchers working on themes pursued by UNU-MERIT and the School of Governance, namely, governance, public policy, innovation, technology, migration, social protection and economic development.
UM and UNU-MERIT are collaborating with the universities of Ghana, Cape Town, Alberta, Barcelona, Duisburg and Dakar to develop COLA.
