Contract Research Centre
The Contract Research Centre (CRC) facilitates acquisition and management of external research funding at Maastricht University, more often executed in knowledge networks with external partners. It does so by pooling the expertise available in UM faculties and departments. CRC has set its priorities on professionalism in contracting activities and valorisation awareness. CRC is part of the Knowledge Transfer Office of Maastricht University.
The Contract Research Centre activities focus on:
- The university research strategy: Portfolio Management Research
- Policymaking at a regional, national and European level
- Reinforcement of the Liaison function
- Support in competitive acquisition of research funding
- Support in project management
- Raising awareness for knowledge valorisation
- Training and coaching of (young) researchers
Commissioned research
Professional support of research with respect to commissioned research and knowledge transfer (valorisation) is a critical success factor for Maastricht University. The managing-directors of faculties, schools and institutes support the researchers in this respect. In return, they are supported by specialists in the field of fund raising, finance, fiscal and legal matters, administrative organization, etc. Both managing-directors and specialists are members of the CRC. Together they form a network in which new developments and knowledge is being shared.
